Rules of the house:
No outside shoes are to go beyond the tan entryway carpet.
No tobacco smoking inside the building or apartment.
We do allow marijuana smoking, but only in the windows of the front room, and when the wind blows any smoke outside the apartment. K.K.'s job is dependant on
drug-free random hair testing!
We allow the use of vape pens, only if it does not smell of tobacco or other strong scents.
If you bring in any guests, you are responsible to ensure that follow all the house rules and do not cause a disturbance on the property.
No pets or children. Our home is not safe nor suitable for either.

Using I.D. cards and keys:
The lobby door uses an I.D. badge, which we will provide for you to use during your stay.
We're on the 9th floor, south-east within the building. When exiting the lift, then right again into the short hallway. Our door has a yellow apartment
number label on the door - the black button below it is the doorbell.
One of the keys unlocks/locks the deadbolt in the top keyhole.
The other key will unlock/lock the deadbolt on the bottom keyhole (note: it's opposite "normal" locks!). When unlocking, after the deadbolt clicks as it
retracts, turn the springy key slightly further (it will feel "springy") to unlock the actual door latch itself and push gently to open the door.
We lock the deadbolts before bed, or when everyone is out of the apartment. We sometimes use the chain lock when everyone in in for the night and no one is expected.

Transit in New York City:
Even if you've been to New York in the past everything changed in January 2026 when they retired the metro card.
All fares are now paid with an RFID credit card, phone app (Google Wallet/ApplePay) or OMNY card (a pre-paid fare storage device available at every subway station vending machines)
To be fair, transit prices have actually come down for people that use public transit a lot; although a single fare is now $3, after paying for 12 rides using the same card or device
in a 7-day period, and all additional rides within the week are free. Learn more here.
Google Maps is wired into MTA’s real-time APIs, allowing the best navigation tool we have to get around NYC.
